Which Circuit Breaker from ETBC7 Should be Used for the Brake Controller

Question:

Installing this controller with the install kit ETBC7. Confused on which breakers to use. Trailer is dual axle with brakes on both axles.

The # ETBC7 kit comes with 3 circuit breakers. The 40 amp circuit breaker is for the 12 volt hot lead on the 7-Way (black wire). The 20 or 30 amp circuit breaker will be used on the brake controller power wire (also a black wire). I recommend using the 30 amp circuit breaker because should you ever need to tow a trailer with more than 4 brakes you will be ready to go. Whereas with the 20 amp breaker should you need to tow a trailer with more than 4 brakes you would have to switch out the 20 amp breaker for the 30 amp.
