Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Ball Mount for Rise Needed Without Bumper Fascia Contact
Question:
Putting a hitch on my 2005 Hyundai Tucson. Hitch is a no brainer, just want to make sure I get the right ball mount to get the 17inch height that wont interfere with the plastic facia. Thanks!

For your 2005 Hyundai Tucson, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13526. This will have a 12-1/4 inch measurement to the inside top of the receiver opening and from the hitch pin hole to the outer most part of the bumper will be 5-3/4 inches.
For your ball mount, I recommend the MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount # MT70068 to give you the bumper clearance and then recommend hitch ball # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or # 63847 for a 2-5/16 inch ball. Then use # e98880 for keyed alike locking pins.
For your vehicle wiring to give you the trailer connection, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55528. This simply plugs into your Hyundai Tucson's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. When the installation is complete the connector will store beneath the bumper, so I recommend bracket # 18144 to help.
