Recommendation For Weight Distribution System That Works With V Nose Featherlite Trailer
Question:
Is there options for use with a trailer using Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW Item # EQ37100ET for installation with a V nose aluminum featherlite with a deck over frame rails where you cant bolt around the frame rails?

With your situation, a deck over the frame rails will not give you what you need to use an Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System like Item # EQ37100ET. With your V-nose Featherlite trailer, a different Weight Distribution (WD) system where chain hangers like Item # RP58305 can be bolted or welded onto your Featherlite is needed. A system to consider is something like the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, Item # RP66084.
In order to get the right weight distribution system for your towing setup, you need to know your actual Tongue Weight (TW) when fully loaded and ready to tow. You will also need to include any weight from behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. To make this easier, I recommend using something like the etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale, Item # e99044. As you determine this weight, keep in mind that the TW is 10% to 15% of the total loaded weight of your trailer.
After you have that TW figured out, your ideal WD system will be one where the total TW of your towing setup falls in the middle of the TW range of the WD system.
Before choosing a WD system, I suggest checking with your trailer manufacturer to make sure it is okay to use a WD system with it since some aluminum trailers are not recommended for use with WD because the steel systems can bend the aluminum frames.
I have attached articles and videos to assist you.
