2 Bike Rack Solution for 2016 Ford Fusion

Question:

On the site you list that the HRF2 is compatible with the 2016 Ford Fusion. However you also list that the way it attaches to the trunk of a car is with 6 clips. The trunk of my Ford Fusion doesn’t have a lip for a clip to grab onto, but instead the edges of the trunk door form a 90 degree angle, if that makes sense. Other racks are incompatible for this reason. I’m curious why the HRF2 is compatible with the 2016 Ford Fusion when others aren’t?

I see what you are saying, based on your description I would not feel comfortable recommending a trunk rack for your 2016 Ford Fusion and instead would recommend you go the hitch route. For that you'd need a hitch installed like the # 24897 which is a confirmed fit.
