Yes, you can use the Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR with your 2016 Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner will need to have a functioning 7-Way trailer connector for the unit to work. If your 4Runner does not have any trailer connector you can add a 7-Way by first installing a 4-Way, # C59236, and then installing # 37185 using about 20 feet or so of wire # 10-2-1 (sold by the foot) and a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540. You can follow the instructions for the # ETBC7 which I have linked for you. Not all of the steps apply in this case so just follow the ones that do.
