Titan Surge Brake Actuator T63FR With Manual Reverse Lockout Operation

Question:

I just recieved this surge brake actuator today. I havent installed it yet, but I am curious about how the manual lockout works. The little lever just behind the coupler was what I thought locked it out, but it seems to do nothing. Any insight on this?

The Brake Actuator with Manual Lockout - Bolt On - Drum - 2" Ball - 7,500 lbs # T63FR you referenced does have the lever for manual lockout. This lever keeps the hitch ball from putting pressure on the master cylinder plunger when installed. If it seems to do nothing uninstalled, that is because it doesn't have the force of the hitch ball pushing back into it or the hydraulic pressure on the other end to displace. The manual lockout should not be difficult to engage and should only be engaged when you are backing up your trailer to ensure the brakes do not get applied when you are purposefully applying force to the hitch ball and coupler.

This is a very nice coupler that will serve you well.
