The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11412 is not a confirmed fit for either of those vehicles. Curt only confirms the fit on certain Volkswagen GTI and Golf models from 2015-2018. So I don't recommend installing it on your A3 Sportback. If you let me know your model year on that vehicle, I'm happy to assist with confirmed fits.
To remove hitch hardware, I recommend using PB Blaster or another penetrating oil and a socket wrench.
If you choose to reinstall the hitch at some point, I recommend replacing the hardware with # RHK which will allow you the proper hardware recommended by the manufacturer.
