Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2016 Audi Q5

Im installing your Curt trailer hitch on my Audi Q5 soon with no intention of hauling a trailer. However, Id like to know if its possible, and relatively easy to install the wiring and module at some future for towing a trailer. Thank you

If you ever decide to do some towing, I recommend installing the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT. There is not a custom, "plug and play" harness available for your 2016 Audi Q5, so wiring installation will require some testing but it will not require splicing into your current wires. This particular kit includes a circuit tester that will assist in locating the correct wire functions to connect to. Once installed, you will have a 4-Way at the rear of your Audi that will connect with and power a trailer's basic signal lights.

If you are at all comfortable with wiring, this is something that you can do on your own. Otherwise, a local mechanic with some experience will be able to install the harness without issue. I have attached an installation video on your 2018 Audi Q5 so you can see what is involved during the process and judge whether or not you think it will be easy enough for you when you do decide to start towing.
