Replacement Weight Distribution Shank to Keep Hitched Trailer Level When Towed by Lifted Truck

Question:

I have a 2006 F-250 with approximately 8inch lift on it. The current hitch I have does no enough to accommodate my travel trailer without the trailer being angled up while towing. the trailer is approx. 8,000 lbs. do you have a recommendation for a hitch to fit while running a round bar system?

The shank component of a weight distribution system has standardized hole size and hole spacing so you can use any brand of shank to get you the rise or drop you need to keep your hitched trailer level with the ground. This ensures the best handling from the trailer. You can see all shanks on the linked page.

Since your truck could have either a 2-inch or a 2-1/2-inch hitch be sure to click on the appropriate size shank at the top of the page. For each shank we will indicate the rise or drop provided based on whether the system is the round bar or the trunnion bar type.

For instance, Curt shank # C17123 fits a 2-inch hitch and can provide up to 8-1/2-inches of drop with a round bar system. You can refer to the linked article for help confirming the amount of drop you need.
