Recommendations for 2014 Hyundai Tucson and Maxxtow Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier
Question:
We bought the Maxxtow MT70107 cargo carrier but does not fit on our 2014 Hyundai Tucson and we were recommanded an adapter, wont it be unstable and too far from bumper?

The 52x18 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier MT70107 is a nice carrier, but it sounds like you must have a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver on your 2014 Hyundai Tucson. A hitch expander like # HES6 will work, but will limit the tongue weight of your hitch by 50% and greatly limit your capacity to carry cargo because the weight of the carrier also must be calculated in that equation.
My recommendation is to upgrade your hitch to the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75717 which will give you a tongue weight capacity or 525 so you can use your carrier safely.
Your other option is to use a carrier like # C18145 which is compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver.
