Replacement Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2-Inch Hitch on 2017 Ram Pickup

Question:

Recently purchased Keystone travel trailer...package included Center Line hitch installed by dealer...my 2017 Dodge Ram has 2.5 inch receiver...hitch is only 2 inch square...lot of play...was that the wrong hitch?

We can help you with a solution to let you use your Husky Centerline 2-inch weight distribution hitch in your Ram's 2-1/2-inch receiver. There are two ways you can go.

One solution is to install a hitch reducer sleeve in your Ram's 2-1/2-inch hitch, an item such as Curt # C45405 or Gen-Y # 325-GH-007. This will take up the slack inside the 2-1/2-inch receiver so that your 2-inch Husky shank fits properly.

The other and better way to go is to replace the shank component of your weight distribution hitch.
All such shanks use standardized hole size and spacing so any brand of 2-1/2-inch shank will work. The linked page displays all 2-1/2-inch shanks such as # RP54977 from Reese.
