Solar Voltage Input of Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger

Question:

Id like to use this charger to take the place of a separate solar MPPT controller and Automatic Charging Relay in my camper van, with the added benefit of smarter alternator charging using DC to DC. Most MPPT controllers want the panels wired in series to get max voltage to the controller, but I cant find the specs for input voltage from the PANELS to the charger. Should I be going for series max voltage or parallel to keep it at 12v? Thanks in advance!

I reached out to a representative of Redarc who told me the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1240D can accept unlimited current though will have an output only of 40 amps which is what it is rated for. Additionally, it will only work with 12V nominal solar panels so they cannot be connected in series to the charger.
