Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2018 VW Golf R Model
Question:
Can you please confirm if the hitches available for a 2017 Golf R fit the 2018 models? If not, when will product be available? Looking for 1-1/4inch hitch. And, of course, without having to cut bumper if possible. Thanks.

I reached out to my contact at Curt and they have not yet tested the fit on your model. It is very likely that the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver C11475 will fit your vehicle but the fit has not yet been confirmed. For the only confirmed fit we have for your 2018 VW Golf R model, I recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7333. I've attached the installation instructions to help.
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56374 is also a very likely fit that hasn't yet been confirmed. You could use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT which is a universal fit to ensure this.
For a ball mount you can use # C45571 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # C45572 for a 2 inch ball along with pin # F-4.
