Mounting a Roof Cargo Basket on a 2013 GMC Yukon XL Denali with Factory Roof Rack
Question:
I have a 2013 Yukon Denali XL. The previous owner installed the crossbars on it. I wanted to see if it looked like the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket would fit on these crossbars. Thanks!

There are a couple of problems that will prevent you from mount a cargo basket or tray on the factory roof rack crossbars on your 2013 GMC Yukon XL Denali. First and foremost are the bars themselves. The GM roof rack crossbars in this case are a bit on the light side and a lot of accessory manufacturers limit what items will fit them because of this. For example Yakima only allows ski carriers but no cargo boxes, trays, boxes, or baskets. Not even bike racks, or cargo carriers.
The other issue is the limited space between the top of the roof and the bottom of the bars. The solution to both of these problems is to install aftermarket crossbars OR go with a different cargo basket. There is a cost difference. If you went with adding a roof rack and basket # RMCB02 it would cost more than the alternative option.
The alternative option is Surco Safari rack # SPS5084-1101 if you want the largest basket but you could also use # SPS5060-1101 which is considerably less. I have linked a video covering the features of the Safari baskets for you.
