Is the Weight of the Truck Itself Factored into the Capacity Handled by Air Bag Helper Springs

Question:

I have a 2016 F350, 4x4, diesel, 6 3/4 bed. I ordered the F2597 extra heavy duty F2597 but now second guessing myself before installing them. I pull a 5th wheel with pin weight of 3,000 lbs. I weighed the rear axle loaded with trailer at 6500 lbs that is the truck weight plus the pin weight on the rear axle. I tow the 5th wheel intermittently, not full time. Are the 5,000 lb air springs adequate or should I return them for the 7500 lb model?

The air bag capacities do not factor in the weight of the truck because presumably the stock components on the truck are still handling that weight. So think of it more like any additional weight you are adding and go from there (keep in mind that it will not increase the capacities of the truck). If the trailer pin weight is 3,000 pounds then the regular Ride-Rite kit # F2597 at a max of 5,000 pounds capacity is more than enough for your needs.
