Will the Thule # TH56BV Bike Rack Work on a 1999 Dodge Caravan ES
Question:
Will Thule Th56BV fit on hatch of 1999 Dodge Caravan ES? I don't care if I have to remove it to lift hatch at end of long road trip. Thanks.

I checked with Thule and for the 1999 Dodge Caravan ES only 2 bike racks are recommended for these vehicles because the vehicle cannot support the weight of 3 bikes and the carrier on the rear hatch.
If a two bike carrier would be an option, the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Carrier, # TH45JV, would be an excellent choice. I recently had the chance to install this rack on a vehicle and it is the easiest to install and remove trunk mount rack that I have used. For this reason, this is the rack I personally would choose for a trunk mount rack.
You may also want to consider a bike adapter bar, # TH982XT, for use with bikes that do not have a horizontal cross bar for carrying the bikes level, see video.
If you need to carry more than 2 bikes, a hitch and hitch mounted bike rack would be the easiest option to go with. This option would also allow access to the back of the vehicle with the bike rack attached. I recommend on your Dodge Caravan go with the Draw-Tite trailer hitch, # 75119, and the Thule Camber 4 Bike rack, # TH9056.
