Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2015 Mazda CX-5 AWD To Tow Bass Boat
Question:
Hi, I have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 AWD with a towing capacity of 2000 pounds. I have a 1800 pound bass boat. Would my car be able to handle that weight? If so, what trailer hitch should I buy for it?

I did some research and your 2015 Mazda CX-5s have a towing capacity of 2,000-lbs or less. Be sure to check your owner's manual for your specific towing capacity because that amount is your maximum capacity. To tow your boat, you will need: trailer hitch, wiring harness, ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin.
To start, you will need a trailer hitch. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, Item # 76138, because it is a Class III hitch with more than enough towing capacity for your situation.
Next, you will need a wiring harness and I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, Item # 118563, because it works with Mazda CX-5 models.
The last items you will need are a ball mount, hitch ball, and a pin and clip. For a ball mount, I recommend Curt Ball Mount, Item # C45030. For a hitch ball, I recommend the Tow Ready 2 inch ball, Item # 63845. For a pin and clip, I recommend a standard hitch pin, Item # PC3, or the etrailer.com locking hitch pin, Item # e98880.
I have attached additional information for you to check out. I have also attached installation and demonstration videos to assist you.
