Recommendation to Replace RBW Lil Rocker 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I noticed that John H. recommends this to replace a RBW Lil Rocker. I have a pretty old one, probably 18 or nineteen years old. They have two handles on front of unit that controls the tilt, both fore and aft and side to side. Somehow the last couple of years these levers will magically wind up in the lock position either one of them or both of them. I’m not sure how it happens, but they are virtually impossible to move back while weight of trailer is on hitch. Is there anything I can do with this or just say I had a good run with it and buy a new one?

Lubricating the operating handles you mentioned on your RBW Lil Rocker might resolve some of the binding issues you are having, but it may indeed be time for a new fifth wheel hitch. Replacement parts are no longer available for the RBW hitches, so other than some general maintenance like lubrication, there is not much you can do to repair the unit.
The Reese 16K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30047 is a great option for a replacement, as it has a very similar design to the Lil Rocker models. It features a 2-jaw latching system to provide an excellent connection with the trailer and a gross towing capacity of 16,000 pounds. It also has a 4-Way-pivoting head for a full range of motion like what was on your Lil Rocker. Assuming that your current hitch was mounted to industry-standard, above-bed base rails, this will attach right to your existing rails without issue.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this hitch that you can also take a look at.
