Recommendation For 7-Way Connector For Brake Controller For 2007 Chevrolet Express 3500 Van
Question:
We have a 2007 Chevy Express 3500 with a tow package that has a 4 pin connector. We need to install a brake controller and a 7 pin connector for a trailer with brakes. What do we need to purchase to make the hookup possible?

Because you already have a 4-Way connector, you will only need a 4-Way to 7-Way adapter and a brake controller if you do not already have one.
For a 4-Way to 7-Way adapter, I recommend our Universal Installation Kit For Trailer Brake Controller, Item # ETBC7, because it is very easy to install (see article). This kit includes all the wiring and the 7-Way connector you will need to install a brake controller. After installed, you will have a combo 4-Way/7-Way connector that gives you both options.
If you need a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, Item # 90195, which is one of the best controllers on the market as well as being easy to use.
To help you with your project, I have attached a few FAQ articles and videos.
