Comparing Reese # RP66540 Weight Distribution System to Pro Series # 49585
Question:
Have been recommended the Reese 66540 by you helpful guys for my application. I can get the Pro Series 49585 for $ less! Is there a significant difference between the two to stay with the Reese system the product specs are identical? Is there something Im missing? Who wins the knockout!? Reese or Pro Series? I will be using the Reese brackets 58305 in conjunction with either system. Thx so much guys....you kick a$$!!

The Reese Weight distribution system # RP66540 is very similar to the discontinued Pro Series 49585. Both will serve the same purpose, you just have different styles of trunnion bars and the tilt adjustment function. The Reese System uses a serrated-washer design and the Pro Series System uses the stacked washers of traditional systems. The chain hangers # RP58305 can be used with either system.
You will also need hitch ball # A-90 for a 2 inch ball or # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball with either system. Because you won't be adjusting it each time, I recommend going with the Pro Series system to save some money.
