Can a Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Be Replaced with a Reese Select 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
Question:
I currently have the Reese 16 Pro series hitch with professional install of the recommended rail plates. Ive moved up to a 42foot 5th wheel and would like to get the Reese 20 hitch. My question is, can I use the same installed rail system that I purchased with the 16 with the new hitch without having to make any adjustments? Is the rail system rated the same with the same amount of bolts? Thank you.

The base rails used to install the Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part PS30093 are the same as the rails used to install the Reese M5 20K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928. They will not require any modifications or adjustments. These are what is referred to as industry standard rails (ISR) which all Reese and Pro Series 5th wheel hitches use, except for their Signature Series.
Please note that the Reese M5 20k 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30928 is designed to be used in trucks with an 8' bed. If you have a 6-1/2' bed you will need a slider part # C16541 to allow for turning clearance.
