In order to add a 7-way trailer connector to your 2017 Ford F-150 with an existing 4-way trailer connector you will want to use part # ETBC7. This kit will plug into your existing 4-way trailer connector and provide you with the additional wires you will need for trailer brakes. Some models do have the brake (blue) and hot lead (orange or red) wires already ran from under the hood to the end of the driver's side frame rail. However, these wires are hard to access and additional wire will still be needed which is why I recommend this kit. I have attached an install video on a similar 2013 Ford F-150 for you as well. If you also need a brake controller, I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 which is our best selling brake controller due to its easy to use LCD display and integrated safeguards. You can also use part # 22292 to install the controller.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C86HR. The Curt trailer hitch is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. It has a 900 lb max tongue weight (TW) rating and a 6,000 lb max gross trailer weight (GTW) rating. You will want to check in your owner's manual for the vehicle's towing capacity as the lower of the two (hitch/vehicle) will be your limiting factor. I have attached an install video of this hitch on a similar 2017 Ford F-150 for you as well. As you can see the hitch offers a complete bolt-on installation that will not require any cutting or drilling.
