Comparing 215/60-8 Trailer Tires Load Range C Versus Load Range D

Question:

I beleive the 215/60 is the replacementinch for 18.5x8.5-8 but are they truly the same size with different numbering code system or are the actually different and if so which is higher and wider? Also for just the few dollars more is it worth upgrading to load rating D is this 8 ply versus 6? What the best option for not blowing out Basically comparing the two tires below: Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8inch Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C Kenda 215/60-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8inch Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D

On your 18.5x8.5 x8 tires the actual measurements are the 18.5 inch diameter and the 8.5 inch width. The 215/60-8 tires actual measurement is 18.3 inches diameter and width of 8.9 inches.

To prevent blowout, the higher load range which includes the higher ply rating is better. It will have a stronger sidewall.

The Kenda # AM1HP26 with load range C (6 ply) is rated for 935 lbs at 50 psi and the Kenda # AM1HP28 load range D (8 ply) is rated at 1,165 at 70 psi. With your concern about blowout, I recommend you go with the 8 ply rating of the # AM1HP28. I've attached review videos to assist.
