There are a few possible solutions for towing a fifth wheel trailer with the B&W Gooseneck Hitch on your Ram 3500.
The most economical solution is going to be with an adapter that simply bolts over the king pin of your trailer, such as the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216. This coupler bolts to the king pin on the trailer and then connects to the gooseneck ball on your truck, providing a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds. This particular model also features a 7-1/2 inch offset to provide additional clearance when making turns with your short bed truck.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can get a better idea as to how it works.
Going up a bit in price, another option is a combination of the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # 16310, which will mount to the gooseneck hole on your truck, and a sliding fifth wheel hitch like the Reese # RP30051. Please note that the Curt adapter will not work on 2013-2016 Dodge Ram 3500s. This is a nicely priced fifth wheel hitch that provides a 16,000 pound towing capacity and 10 inches of slider travel for cab clearance during turns.
Finally, the best option for towing a fifth wheel trailer with the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch is with the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400. This is an excellent hitch that will easily convert your existing gooseneck hitch so that it can pull a fifth wheel trailer. It has a 20,000 pound towing capacity, a 1 inch thick dual jaw for a secure trailer connection, and 12 inches of slider travel.
I have attached short video demonstrations on all the products mentioned that you can also take a look at.
