Adapter Needed for Carrying Bikes on RV While Flat Towing
Question:
I need a product recommendation. I currently tow a Honda Fit behind my motor home using a Roadmaster Falcon 2 on a 6 inch receiver. I would like to add 4 bikes to the hitch setup. Is there anything out there that would work? Even 2 bikes would help. Thanks

We do have some options available for you.
The Roadmaster dual hitch receivers, part # RM-077-2 for a 21/4" Rise/Drop and part # RM-077-4 for a 4" Rise/Drop, were created just for this purpose. You can flat tow your vehicle with the bottom receiver and then use the top receiver for a bike rack. The top receiver for each product is rated at 400 lbs Tongue Weight (TW) so you need to be under that capacity for your bikes.
Be sure to stay within the 3" safe zone (see attached picture) of your tow bar and make sure that your bike rack is rated for use on an RV. Since there is much more play at the rear of an RV than a passenger car, due to axle placement, your bike rack needs to be RV rated.
If you are looking for something that is on the higher end of bike racks then I recommend the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476. However if you are looking for a more cost-effective option then I recommend the Swagman Trailhead # S63381.
