Slider-Topper Clearance Necessary for Installation of Slide Out Awning

Question:

1 What is the minimal space between the slider and roof needed? My slider gets about 5 inches from the roof. I did not climb up yet for the exact measurement. See attach pic 1. 2 The other slider has a small window above the slider. Can an slide topper be install on that side? see pic 2.

When using a slide-topper awning like the Solera 8' Slider (Slide-Topper) in Black w/ Black Hardware # LCV000168106, you just need to make sure that you have a couple of inches above the slide out top trim for your rail so that you will have a slight slope for rain to run off. From the look of the photo, the rail would need to be mounted just underneath the window and will work well.

To get the proper slide topper for your application, you will need to measure the slide-out from outside flange to outside flange. Each description will have a measurement for this. For example the # LCV000168106 has a box width range of 86 inches to 91-3/4 inches. The awning will be slightly wider than the box to allow for the hardware needed and to keep water off the top. I've linked the page to all the toppers to assist.
