Yes, the head on the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30047 referenced in your question can be easily removed to help with mounting and removal. The head is held into place by a large pivot bolt and pin/clip (see attached picture). All you need to do is remove the pin and clip, pull out the bolt, and the head can be lifted up and out from the hitch's base.
This is a really nice fifth wheel hitch that is also relatively lightweight, even with the head still assembled, at just around 100 pounds. The head itself weighs 54 pounds. This hitch features a nice, 2-jaw locking system to provide an excellent connection with the trailer king pin and it has a towing capacity of 16,000 pounds. It will work great with the Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit # RP56006-53 that you also mentioned, which is confirmed to fit your 2014 Ford F-150.
