The Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 referenced in your question is designed to plug directly into the factory pigtail on your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. There is no wiring included with the connector, as it is intended as a plug-and-play installation.
If you do not already have the factory pigtail, you will instead want to go with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118273. This custom-fit harness includes the pigtail that will plug right into the built-in ports that are located under the vehicle on the passenger side. This kit also includes the necessary relays to fully activate the vehicle tow package. I have attached an installation video on the 2016 model Pathfinder that you can use for reference. The process will be identical on your 2017 Pathfinder.
If you need to occasionally tow a trailer that is equipped with a 4-Way connector, you can simply add an adapter like the Pollak # PK12716. This will plug right into the above 7-Way to provide you with a 4-Way when needed.
