Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
Question:
Many thanks for your reply and insight. I read the information you provided. My 2018 Tiguan Owner's Manual states on pages 314 and 316 " Never connect the electrical system of the trailer directly to the electrical system of the rear lights...". It appears that your recommendation does just that. Can you offer a resolution or alternative to this apparent conflict? In no way would I want to (even accidentally) void my vehicle's electrical system warranty. Many thanks for your help.

The etrailer Class III hitch part # e43ZR is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and would be a great option. It has a 3,500 lb trailer towing capacity as well.
For a ball mount you'd want the part # 36051, hitch ball # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or part # 19256 for 1-7/8 inch ball.
For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118811 which is a confirmed fit.
