5th Wheel Trailer Hitch and Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab

5th wheel hitch for a 2011, 2500 dodge mega cab,i think it has a 64bed trailer has a base weight 7,240,hitch weight 1098lbs,also i read about a hitch that you could remove and have your whole truck bed available,thanks

If your 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 has the 6 foot bed, there is an installation kit and hitch that will allow you to remove the hitch and have complete access to the truck bed with no rails to get in the way. It is the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # BWGNRK1313-5W.

With this installation kit, the I recommend the B&W Companion Slider, # BWRVK3370. This hitch has an 20,000 pound capacity, 5,000 pound pin weight capacity, is height adjustable for 17 to 19 inches, and has 12 inches of travel to help with clearance when making 90 degree turns.

If you wanted to go a more traditional route with above the bed rails, you would use kit # RP50140-58. This kit will fit trucks with or without overload springs EXCEPT it will not fit on a gas engine truck with overload springs. You could then use the Curt hitch you have referenced, # C16541. I have included the installation instructions for the above the bed rail kit as well.
