8 Inch Trailer Wheel to Fit 18.5 x 8.5-8 Sized Tire on a 2,000 Pound Axle

Question:

I measured my wheel that fits and from the out side of rim to the center on lug nut side is 3 13/16 inch and from rim to brake drum side is 3 7/8 inch all most in the center? I also measured the inside diameter of the wheel on the drum side about an inch from the center was 7 5/8 inch. I can see a rust ring on the white paint so the drum must run close to the wheel?

I looked for a previous order from you but I wasn't able to find one. I think I can still help you though.

Your 18.5 x 8.5-8 sized tires fit a 8 by 7 inch rim. And since you have brake drums on your 2,000 pound axles they're likely a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. We have 3 options that fit the criteria in different finishes:

Galvanized, part # AM20028
White paint, part # AM20026
Silver paint, part # AM20027

If you can tell me why the rims you find don't fit over your hubs, or if for some other reason the ones I've pointed out do not fit, let me know. I'll see if we have other options for you.

We carry 2 wheels that fit your tires with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern; part # AM20021 for white and part # AM20023 for galvanized. However, I'm not sure they'll fit on your hub and drum assemblies. Do the wheels you're trying to fit have an offset? That is, is the bolt hole plate directly in the center of the rim or is it more towards the front or back of the wheel? If it's offset closer to the front of the wheel then this is why you have contact before the studs are all the way through and the 2 options I mentioned will likely work. They both have zero offset. If the rims you're trying also have zero offset than you need some with a negative offset that moves the bolt hole plate towards the back of the rim which we currently do not have in the correct size.

So it sounds like the rims that you have that fit do not have an offset. I just went to the warehouse and took the same measurements on part # AM20021 and it matched up with what you found. So either it or part # AM20023 sound like they'll work for you. Are you getting the same measurment on the rims that don't fit? Also make sure you pilot hole is 2.5 inches.
