Fit of a Brophy Hitch Expander with 5 Inch Rise on a 2015 Hyundai Sonata
Question:
Will this hitch adapter clear the bumper of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata?
asked by: John
Helpful Expert Reply:
The Brophy 1-1/4 to 2 inch 5 inch rise hitch adapter, part # HT5R will clear the bumper of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, however, it will be extremely close, and you'll likely want to use a flat expander like Brophy's 1-1/4 to 2 inch no rise adapter, part # HTAD, as you will avoid contact with your bumper.
Keep in mind that with a Class I hitch you'll still be limited to carrying two bikes on your vehicle, and the overall tongue weight capacity of the hitch will be lowered by 50% because of the adapters.
