It sounds as if either you have the plugs installed in the wrong locations (not likely), see instructions link, the connectors have a bent terminal or the wiring has been shorted to ground somewhere. You should check all of these situations without the trailer connected.

Next, check the trailer lights. The Chrysler 300 circuitry will not support more than one tail light and one turn/brake light on each side of the trailer. If your trailer has additional lighting you will need to use a powered converter, like the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT. This kit will be hard wired into the vehicle wiring and will draw power from the vehicle battery protecting the vehicle wiring from short circuits and overload.

If you have the trailer connected when the lights are flashing and you lose the lights, you should disconnect the trailer and test the wiring harness without the trailer. If the wiring tests good without the trailer connected, there is a wiring issue on the trailer that needs to be cleared up.

Start by checking all of the trailer grounds for contact to clean, corrosion and rust free, metal on the trailer frame, and check the wiring to be sure a frayed, pinched or cut wire is not contacting the frame causing a short.

If these steps do not solve the issue the harness is most likely bad and will need to be replaced or a Modulite will be needed.
