Where to Install the Trailer Connector at on a 2014 Nissan Leaf
Question:
2 questions: 1. Where should the trailer connector 4 pin flat rest when not in use? And how should I route it when in use? 2. How to route the 12V from the battery? I understand the starting place battery, fuse and the end place the converter in the trunk panel. But how should I route the wire in between?

The 4-way trailer connector included in the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56227 for your 2014 Nissan Leaf can either be left inside the vehicle near the hatch or outside attached to the trailer hitch. The choice will be up to you as either position will be a suitable location. If you leave the connector inside your vehicle then it will be safe from dirt and corrosion which could cause lighting problems down the line but if you place it outside the vehicle on the hitch then it will be much more accessible. In order to mount the trailer connector to the hitch you will want to use both part # 18140 and part # 18144. I also recommend using a bit of part # 11755 on the end of the connector if placed outside the vehicle to seal out dirt and corrosion.
Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to install this harness on a 2014 Nissan Leaf yet therefore I would not be able to provide advice as to where to route the trailer connector or 12 volt power wire. As long as the wires are routed away from moving parts and heat then they should be just fine.
