Necessary Modifications to Install Draw-Tite Class III Receiver on 2008 Ford Edge

does the bumper on my 2008 ford edge sel awd have to be trimmed,modified,or changed to a factory bumper for a hitch

The Draw-Tite Class III Receiver you referenced, part # 75992 does not require any trimming or other modification of the bumper fascia. However, there are two heat shields that are attached to the frame members under the vehicle that will need a bit of trimming. If you look at figure # 2 on the install instructions that I have linked to, you will see a diagram showing the small portions that will need to be trimmed away.

This hitch fits all Edge models except for the Sport model.

To complete your towing setup, you might also need the following items:
