Complete Towing Package for a 2015 Volvo V60
Question:
I am about to order the Drawtite hitch, wiring kit and brake controller but first lets resolve the wiring issue. It is a Volvo V60, date of manufacture May 2015 which may put it ahead of the vehicle wiring upgrade. Your advice regarding the wiring kit? Fred

Expert Reply:
Your 2015 Volvo V60 that was manufactured in May of 2015 was before the mid-year harness was developed therefore you will need to use a hardwire option like the Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C59496. The hardwire harness will be the only option that is available for you as the custom fit harness will not work on your vehicle.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885. The Prodigy P2 is one of our most well reviewed and best selling brake controllers due to its ease of use and integrated safeguards. In order to install this controller you will first need to install a 7-way like the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7.
Then for a trailer hitch, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75916 is a confirmed fit and will work well for you. The Draw-Tite Max-Frame is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. To complete your towing setup you will also need a ball mount/hitch ball and for that I recommend part # 989900. You will want to use the attached help article to make sure the above ball mounts will work for you.
I have also attached a few review videos as well.
