Whats Needed to Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

Have a plethora of different trucks I am looking to hookup a fifth wheel package to. We are looking to haul 40foot gooseneck open deck trailers with the max weight not exceeding 8,000lbs. Any sort of suggestions on what brand to look at or any sort of suggestions as to how to approach this situation as a whole? Kind of new to this hauling thing with this type of equipment.

You are going to need a fifth wheel hitch like the Reese hitch part # RP30047 for the long bed trucks and a slider hitch like part # RP30051 for the short bed trucks to allow you to make tight turns. Unless the trailer has a very narrow nose. Then a stationary hitch would work well.

You'll need to install a rail kit in each of the trucks like the part # RP30035 which is universal and can fit most applications. To put a 7-way in the bed of the truck you'd want an adapter like part # 41157 to make connecting the wiring easier.
