Troubleshooting Hopkins Smart Hitch Back Up Camera with Intermittent Alarm Function
Question:
I just got a Hopkins Smart Hitch back up camera system installed at Christmas. Worked fine for a couple weeks. The sound has become very unpredictable now when backing. Sometimes a constant tone, sometimes nothing, rarely the slow to fast beep as I approach an object. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 extended cab. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Have you tried adjusting the sensors up or down to see if that improves the alarm function? It could be that the sensors of the # HM50002 got bumped somehow and now it's not getting a reliable signal.
