Can a Second Switch be Wired in and Used with Valterra EZ Valve Electric Waste Valve # E1003VP

Question:

Valterra electric dump valve. Is it possible to wire in a second switch upstairs like the Drainmaster, or is it not a momentary switch? IT is better than the Drainmaster because you can mount it sideways without fear of dribbles getting into the motor. I like that. Ours has to mount sideways. Thanks.

Valterra EZ Valve Electric Waste Valve # E1003VP is operated with a switch and the valve would either open or close accordingly. If you are talking about just installing a second switch then it is possible though the switch is not available separately.

You might be able to wire in two electric valves but both would either open or close together. But the switches may not be rated for the load of 2 electric valves. This one is fused at 5 amps so you would likely need a separate switch for 2 of them.

We do have a dual system, # E85-8, designed for both black and gray water tanks so for your application you would have to modify it to work on one line rather than 2.

Is it possible to mount the switch 20 feet away from the valve by splicing additional wire into the provided seven feet line?

@DanF Yes, it is possible to add wiring to mount the switch at 20 ft away. I say to use a 10 gauge duplex wire like part # 10-2-1. And also heat shrink butt connectors such as part # DW05745-1 [single] which we also carry in packs of 5, part # DW05745-5, or part # DW05745-10 which is a pack of 10 in case you want to have a few extra on hand.
