Roof Rack for a 2014 Lexus IS 250 with a Sunroof

Question:

Hello! I have a 2014 Lexus IS 250 and am looking for a roof rack system that can secure a pod and possibly a bike. I do have a sun roof. What system do you recommend? When I don’t have a pod can I open my sunroof? Thank you!

For your 2014 Lexus IS 250 I recommend a roof rack system with aero bars because it will be the most aerodynamic, produce less noise, and will look the best on your vehicle.

Rhino-Rack system # RR96QR is a great option. This system has bars that do not overlap the feet so the system looks more like a factory roof rack. The only drawback is that there is less bar space to mount accessories so depending on how wide your cargo box is you may or may not be able to also fit a bike next to the box.

For a bike rack that will fit the above roof rack system I recommend the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail # RBC035 which is one of the most stable for-mount bike racks available. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.

You may or may not be able to open the sunroof on the vehicle. You can make that determination with the roof rack installed. But it is not recommended to open the sunroof because even though aero bars are quieter than round or square bars they can still be noisy if you have a sunroof open.
