Parts Needed to Add Reese Friction Sway Control to a Trailer and Ball Mount
Question:
what are the extra parts neede to install this unit? are there parts numbers?

Expert Reply:
If your trailer has a weight distribution hitch and you are using a weight distribution head, you will not need any other parts to install the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, # 83660. The sway control ball will install in the small hole on either the right or left side of the trailer, normally the right side.
If you are using a ball mount without a hole for the sway control ball, you will need to add a Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2 inch Ball Mounts, # RP26003. Another option is to get a ball mount with the adapter built in like the Ball Mount with Sway Control Bracket, # D320.
I have linked a short video showing some of the installation options you may need.
Let me know what you have and I will be glad to make a more specific recommendation. The year, make, and model of your vehicle and type of trailer you are towing will help.
