Hi there. I have the above suv that says it has the tow package. I installed a hitch and a four way plug for simple trailers. I just purchased a small camper and wanted to see what I need to get for the brake system and the 7 way plug install

Since you already have a 4-Way installed on your 2015 Toyota Highlander, you will just need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to install a fully functional 7-Way connector from your existing 4-Way, along with the additional wiring needed to install a trailer brake controller. I have attached a great article that details the installation steps for this kit. I have also included an installation video on the 2014 Highlander that you can use for reference.
Once you have the 7-Way on your vehicle, you are ready to install the brake controller itself. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate the brakes on your camper at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your Highlander. It features an easy to read digital display, along with continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues. This unit is well known for its reliability and ease of use.
I have included the written installation manual for the controller that you can take a look at. This is everything you need to get your Highlander equipped to pull your new camper with brakes.
