What Is the Height of Swagman XTC4 # S64665 Above the Hitch Pin With Masts Folded Down

Question:

I am interested in the 4 Bike Swagman XTC4. I want to use it with a 2011 Toyota RAV4. The rear door opens to the right not up, so it is possible that the door would not clear the rack. I would like to know how high the XTC4 is above the center of the hitch receiver when the masts are folded down. Thanks.

I spoke with my contact at Swagman and she informed me that at the highest point out on the rack, it will be 8 inches above the hitch pin hole when the masts are folded down. You will want to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin up to see how much clearance you have for your door to open. If there is a distance of greater than 8 inches your door should be able to open with the masts of this Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack # S64665 folded down.

Another issue you could potentially run into is that the spare tire might interfere with your ability to be able to use this rack. From the center of the hitch pin hole out to the nearest wheel hoop is 10 inches. You will want to measure to be sure, but it looks like your spare tire carrier sits pretty flush with the bumper of your vehicle. I attached a picture that shows what a hitch looks like on your vehicle and how flush the spare sits with your bumper.
