A-Frame Jack Recommendation for Travel Trailer with Propane Tank Right Behind Jack

Question:

I love this jack for its low clearance. However I need it for my travel trailer and the jack is up against the propane tank. I would need a front crank or maybe electrical and the pin out of the tanks way. Any chance the manufacturer makes or plans one that would work for people in my situation? A jack with significantly less than that annoying 9 inch drop would be good to know about as well. Your thoughts?

As far as the Ultimate Trailer Jack # 322-RDJ-2K goes the design, and more specifically the placement of the pin, is placed close to the mounting point of the jack because that is where the jack is most stable. As far as I know they are not yet making one that would work out well for your travel trailer.

Your best option is a different jack that doesn't stick down so far below the trailer frame. Bulldog 3K jack # BD1550101344 is one option. Without a footplate on it measures 7 inches from the mounting surface to the bottom of the jack when fully retracted. The footplate you have may fit if it is removable but if not you could add one using # PS1400700340.

For an electric A-frame jack take a look at # UF38-944014. This jack does not stick out very far in the direction of your propane tank so the head would not interfere. Electric jacks make short and easy work of lifting or lowering the trailer. The seemingly endless cranking of a manual jack can take its toll on a person after awhile!
