Trailer Spring Kit # 2-1020 Recommendation for an Old Boat Trailer Converted to a ATV Trailer

Question:

I have a old boat trailer converted to a 4 wheeler trailer. I replaced the axle with a 2000 lb on and the springs are a double eye 37 inch long spring. they are weak and need replacing. What spring would you recomend and which kit should I use? Thanks for your help.

It sounds like you may have a vehicle leaf spring on your old boat trailer as we do not carry any leaf springs that are that length.

The leaf spring that would closely match the axle capacity of your trailer would be # e84SR.

You are going to have to relocate your hangers as they are too far apart for the leaf springs I recommended. For a hanger kit I would recommend a Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs # APS4.

You will want to install the hangers 20 inches apart from each other, and the distance from the axle and the trailer frame will be 5-1/2 inches.

For a spring seat you will need a Spring Seat for Typical 2,000-lb, Round Trailer Axles # TRSS175.

I attached an FAQ article on trailer suspension for you to check out also.
