Does the Receiver on Curt Trailer Hitch # 13314 Stick Out Past the Bumper on a 1997 Honda CR-V
Question:
I am looking at this hitch for my 1997 honda crv. Can you tell me if the actual receiver will stick out of the bumper? This CRV has the spare tire mounted in the rear on the side and I want to attach a bike rack to it. I am worried about interference.

When Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13314, for the1997 Honda CR-V is installed on the vehicle, the receiver opening will be slightly rear of the back bumper, so it will stick out some. Exact placement can vary between models. I have included a link to the instructions for you to view.
When you do have a hitch installed, you will need to take an important measurement to determine the clearance. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the spare tire. This is the distance a bike rack needs to overcome to fit.
You will want to measure from the hitch pin hole center to the nearest part of the bike rack that may interfere with the spare tire. This measurement will need to be greater than the clearance measurement you took first.
