Replacement Drop Shank for the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System Part # C17500

Question:

I was writing with a question about the Curt weight distribution hitch I believe it was item #17500. Im looking to purchase it, but wanted to ask a question regarding the shank. My current hitch has a on it thats 5 1/4 drop. Would I also have to purchase a separate shank item #17120, I think to provide enough ? Thanks.

The shank included in the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17500 has a 7-1/2" rise and a 1/2" drop while using trunnion spring bars. Therefore, if your current needs require a 5-1/4" drop in order to keep the trailer level with your tow vehicle then you will need to replace the shank with one more inline with your rise/drop needs.

For a shank that will allow for a 5-1/4" drop while using trunnion spring bars I recommend the Curt Weight Distribution Shank part # C17123 which has a 8-1/4" drop and will work well for you.
