The best and most cost-effective carrier for heavy bikes compatible with a 1-1/4 inch hitch is the Saris Freedom, part # SA4412B. This rack can carry two 60 pound bikes and mounts to their frames for easy installation. The wheel and frame cradles are independently adjustable and can be moved to better fit your bike's particular wheel base up to 48 inches.
The Freedom also includes a hitch lock for added security. If you'd prefer a wheel mount, the SuperClamp EX2, part # SA4025F is also available.
