I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2000 Ford Focus SX and found, on page 154, that you can only tow your Focus with a tow dolly or on a trailer. Flat towing will cause your transmission to fail due to insufficient lubrication. You will want to verify this in your copy of the owner's manual as well.

Since this is the case I recommend going with one of our tow dollies like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes # RM-2050-1. This has a max weight capacity of 4,250 lbs and can accommodate up to 12" to 16" wheels.

This kit does have wiring for the brakes on it but you will need to install a connector. To utilize the brakes (which I recommend doing) you can use the 6-Way # PK11604 or the 7-Way # PK12706 depending on your application.

Installation instructions and a demonstration video have been linked for you to check out.
