2011 Escalade ESV Electric Trailer Brake Controller Installation Troubleshooting
Question:
Installing one of your P3 Tekonshas. The blue wire on my 2011 Escalade is always registering 12.4 volts when the key is in the on position. My understanding was that it should only have electricity when the brake is depressed. What do I do now?

Expert Reply:
On your 2011 Cadillac Escalade, the wiring present under the dash is most likely not connected correctly on your Prodigy P3 brake controller # 90195. There is a good chance that the red wire that connects to your brake light switch is getting the constant power signal. It should only receive power when the brake pedal is depressed. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test this connection. I've attached a video and an article to assist.
